About the Role: Gore is looking for an experienced Production Leader to join our Performance Solutions Division, in Dundee. In this role, you will provide leadership, support, direction and focus for our Space products manufacturing and stores team in a cleanroom environment, working with additional teams across multiple process areas. You will engage many associates, including other leaders, planners, process engineers and quality assurance associates. Key responsibilities include determining and ensuring the resources, skills and equipment are in place to accomplish our business goals, and delivering on these goals.


Responsibilities:
  • Supporting and developing the team, including performance to plan, yield and reject trends, based on valid team metrics
  • Proactively managing costs and ensuring the efficient use of investments
  • Partnering with the technical team to identify and drive improvement projects, employing lean manufacturing tools to achieve business goals
  • Driving quality throughout the process/area as well as ensuring the consistent delivery of products and when required, engage in change orders, non-conformance reports and SOP changes
  • Creating and implementing training plans, identifying team skills/gaps, and participating in the annual Performance & Development process and hiring processes
  • Ensuring all EH&S requirements are met, including risk assessments, procedures, training, incident investigations, audit corrective and preventative actions
Qualifications: #LI-LH1
  • 5 years in a leadership role in a manufacturing/assembly environment and a university degree (Engineering, Science or Supply Chain management) or equivalent experience/capability
  • Proven ability to develop and set priorities, execute plans and consistently produce the desired results
  • Strong team player and demonstrated ability to work effectively in a changing environment and help others do the same
  • Solid analytical skills combined with the ability to prioritize and troubleshoot production issues using operational excellence/lean manufacturing tools
  • Ability to influence other associates and functions in pursuit of the team's objectives, supported by the capability to lead in a culturally consistent manner
  • Demonstrated ability to fairly address performance issues, establish expectations and hold others accountable, with competence in resolving associate/team issues
  • A strong commitment to product quality with experience of working with quality assurance systems e.g. ISO, AS, and ERP software
  • Experience of working in a cleanroom environment
  • Passionate about supporting and leading small manufacturing teams while creating an engaging work environment and fostering a LEAN mind-set
  • Ideally with a background in, or an understanding of, electronics manufacturing or small component assembly, though not essential
